Class 3 enjoyed a wonderful morning up at Woodhorn Colliery Museum where we used our time machines to travel back to 5000BC coming face to face with the Egyptian period in history. We were able to handle ancient objects and using our detective skills question – "what does this tell me about…"
The final session - embalming - was of course a rare treat indeed, with lots of good fun – hmm, not that I was too keen myself but one has to do these things! Our children very much enjoyed the visit and were superbly behaved throughout.
Well done, children.
Preparing to embalm.
This is going to be a long job.
Wow, this is careful work…gloves to
protect our precious artefacts.
James is the willing "victim".
Archaeologist at work.
Do these canopic jars contain James’ vital
organs ??
