Visit to the Evening Chronicle, May 2008.
Our newly appointed School News Team - the Writing Stars, visited the Evening Chronicle this week and wow did they have fun!
During the visit they were given a flavour of life in a hectic newsroom, using the computer to write to a given deadline, draft and produce a finished copy to take away -essentially giving our children an opportunity to live the life of a busy journalist - if only for a day!
It was then back to school and the creating of our own school newspaper in time for an end of term deadline - the name of which is, after much deliberation, The Stamfordham Star. Staff and children very much enjoyed the day, thrilled with the take-away souvenirs given to them!
